Vegan Travel

I have been to so many places, especially since me and Michael got together in 2008, we both love to travel! And everywhere we go, we attempt to try as much as the vegan food as possible. So, this is a list of the places we've traveled to, what restaurants I've been to, and what I've thought! If anyone wants specific recommendations for food, let me know, I could probably tell you exactly what I had. :)

  • Ann Arbor, MI (2008 & 2011)
  • Check out the blog post with pictures!
    • Jazzy Veggie - We went to this place when it first opened, I believe it is the only all vegan place in Ann Arbor. To be honest, we didn’t love what we got because we didn’t like the type of “chicken” they used. Their menu seems to be larger than what I remember, so I’d like to try it again
    • Earthen Jar - Great Indian place! This is one of our favorites when we go. They are a mostly vegan Indian buffet, with many options. They also have vegan desserts.
    • Seva - I've been here several times. They are all vegetarian and clearly mark what is vegan, with plenty of options
    • Arbor Brewing Company - They serve vegan food, I had the tempeh burger which was really good. I don’t drink so I can’t comment on the beer they brew, but the food was really good! Although they, unfortunately, don’t brew root beer for us non-drinkers, they did have a really good bottled root beer for me
    • Silvio's Organic Pizza - Pizza place with many different topping choices and they clearly mark what is vegan. You can get tofu or vegan cheese on the pizza and they even have vegan desserts
    • The Cupcake Station - This place offers vegan cupcakes; the day we went, the only vegan ones were chocolate or vanilla and we were kind of bummed because they had soo many other flavors. BUT the chocolate and the vanilla were amazing, not plain and boring at all
    • Cafe Ambrosia - This cafe serves vegan goods like cookies. Michael loved the lattes
    • Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tearoom - A bookstore that has a cafe area upstairs and they offer vegan desserts such as a vegan ding dong (or ho ho?)
    • The Blue Nile - A really great Ethiopian place that offers the traditional seating.
  • Cities to come:
    • NYC/NJ
    • Toronto, ON
    • Niagara Falls
    • Chicago
    • Midwest (IA, KS, MO)
    • Upstate NY
    • Columbus, OH
    • Portland, OR
    • Louisville, KY
